Retail Sector Economic Stimulus Letter
PIDA signed onto a Retail Sector Economic Stimulus letter organized by the National Retail Federation which was sent Saturday to the President and Congressional Leadership. There were 90 associations in all that signed on. Click here for a copy of the letter. The National Retail Federation also issued this press release. PIDA recommends that you share this letter with all of your retail customers. The purpose of the letter is to show how critical it is for the President and Congress to ensure that all retailers and their supply chains, of all sizes are able to benefit from the stimulus packages that are being debated. It reinforces that this is a bridge and not a bailout for the industry that represents the largest private sector employer and asked for a package that is flexible to allow retailers of all sizes access to capital to keep their operations afloat. Department of Agriculture Request The Department of Agriculture reached out to PIJAC and asked they are aware of any specific situations in which animal producers are experiencing difficulty obtaining animal feed. Please send any examples to Mike Bober via email at mbober@pijac.org by close of business today. PIJAC will still collect anecdotes beyond today, but for now they want to be able to send the USDA something before the end of the day. PIDA will continue to work with all of our industry partners to provide information to our members during these challenging times. Stay safe and be well. Celeste Powers President, PIDA |
